The Mascara Barb (Dawkinsia assimilis) is a tropical freshwater fish of the family Cyprinidae. It swims in midwater, close to the bottom. It grows to 11.2 cm (standard length, tail fin excluded). The IUCN Red List rates it Endangered. In the aquarium it is kept at 19–25 °C.
